Player Notes A former Gaelic footballer who concentrated on golf after breaking his kneecap. McGinley won the 1997 World Cup with Padraig Harrington, also a team-mate at the 1991 Walker Cup, but had to wait until last month for his next victory at the Wales Open. A stable mate of Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke and neighbour of Clarke in Sunningdale, England, he missed only one halfway cut in the year-long qualifying race and had 10 top 10s. His wife Alison was professional golfer.
