HUDDERSFIELD PLANT SALE
Saturday 20 July
Once again, the Huddersfield Town Centre Association has joined
forces with the Marsden Moor National Trust to bring you a Plant
Sale in the centre of Huddersfield.
Last year's event was a huge success, and this year will be bigger
and better. More stalls will be offering even more variety, and
the prices will still be low.
Make sure you put the date in your diary, and don't forget to tell
all your friends.
CANAL FESTIVAL
24 - 26 August
British Waterways are holding their annual Canal Festival in
Huddersfield this year, during August Bank Holiday weekend.
The event will be based on the Huddersfield Broad Canal, with
loads of exhibitions, stalls and entertainment at Leeds Road
Playing Fields.
FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL
28 August - 1 September
Huddersfield's second annual Food & Drink Festival is
scheduled to take place between 28 August and 1 September 2002,
and will be held mainly in St George's Square.
Popular events from last year such as the Open Air Food Court, the
Children's Party and the Pizza Tossing Competition will run again,
and new events have been added. Look out for the impressive
Cookery Demonstration Theatre, with free demos by local and
speciality chefs. There will also be a Farmer's Market, children's
rides and a mini-Oktoberfest (Licensing permitting!) featuring
local micro-breweries.
A sandwich competition and various fringe events in local
restaurants, pubs and bars will add to the fun - all rounded off
by a Gourmet Dinner held at the Town Hall.
